A group of about 30 dogs and cats wearing blue ribbons took to the streets of Hong Kong last week in protest at HK police inaction over a brutal animal cruelty case. The protestors, mostly wearing banners, marched on Sunday, November 11th from Chater Garden, Central, to deliver a letter to the government at Lower Albert Road to highlight a recent case involving a kitten named Blue Blue, found outside a supermarket at Choi Yuen Estate, Sheung Shui, whose hind legs had been chopped off but was only put on file by local police. The protest ended with a letter being delivered to the government demanding that police set up a special team of Animal Police to deal with cruelty to animals.
Some banners wrote: "Police and Killers are holding hands. The killer is laughing and will continue to kill."
"Please don't hurt me..."
"When dogs attacks humans, dogs are killed,
When humans attacks animals, who will speak for us?"
"Please don't be cruel to animals..."
"Respect Life! Cherish Life!"
"Cold blooded Police and Killer are the same gang..."
"When humans kill animals, no one speaks for us..."
"We have dog-rights and cat-rights..."
"Stand Up for Blue Blue!!"
